[REVIEW] Jeffrey Star Velour Liquid Lipstick

Jeffrey, Jeffrey, Jeffrey. What have we not heard about Jeffrey?

He’s atrocious, he’s loud, he’s dramatic… but he makes damn good liquid lipsticks. For the longest time, I never want to support him. I always thought he was a little too extra (but honestly, so am I), he was portrayed to be racist in the media, he was abusive to his fans… Nah, I don’t want to support anyone like that.

But honestly, his videos do entertain me sometimes, and what can I say? People love hating on him.

It took me two full years and after all that hype to finally purchase a Jeffrey Star liquid lipstick. At that time, I was trying to find a color similar to Ginger from Kylie Cosmetics and one of the search results that came up was “I’m Shook” from the Jeffrey x Manny collaboration. That color, it is.

The other shade I picked up was Gemini but I have not opened it up. (It’s still up for grabs!)

Packaging wise, I think it’s pretty standard, pink tube, pink box. Meh. Standard. However, it is shorter and chubbier than say, compared to Kylie Cosmetics. I think it’s nice as it fits nicely in a small pouch. It is indeed eye changing as it is a shocking pink color with holographic fonts.

I am very impressed that Jeffrey Star has a whole range of colors from like black to white, literally. If you want a specific color, I think he has something you want. I gotta say the names of the shades were so creative. Ha! At $18 a tube, I think it is affordable as well. I would buy this instead of Kylie.

Texture wise… I love it. It is way lighter than most of the liquid lipsticks but does not necessarily mean that it is less pigmented. Instead, Jeffrey’s liquid lipsticks do apply beautifully, very lightly but with full on color. I love the applicator as well, it is on the shorter side so you get more control of the application.

I was surprised at how much I like the product and I think it is one of the best liquid lipsticks out there. Will I buy more? I don’t know. That’s just because I don’t even know if I want to support someone like Jeffrey. But do I like it? Yeap, I do. But I think one is enough for now.
